Did you know?
The Serre Chevalier cable car has been the star of the resort for over 80 years! A symbol of the history of skiing here, it's also open in summer for breathtaking views.
A quick history: the project began in 1935, but it was in 1941, in the middle of the war, that the ropeway opened its doors. At the time, it was the longest in Europe, with two sections.
In 2013, the first section was replaced by the Ratier gondola, but the historic station was preserved. The second section is still there, with the top station renovated in 2021 for its 80th anniversary.
Once you reach the summit (2,491 m), don't miss the panoramic viewpoint: a perfect spot to admire the Guisane valley, the Aiguilles d'Arves, the Pelvoux and the entire Écrins National Park. A breathtaking panorama awaits you! 🌄
